  7. The WY-997 Multidrop Communication Interface (MDCI) board implements
  8. high-speed Multidrop communication over RS-422 cabling.  When combined with
  9. the WY-999 Intelligent Terminal Concentrator (ITC), any AT-compatible computer
  10. can interface with up to 40 devices over a broad area.  The WY-997 MDCI board
  11. can support up to 40 devices on four WY-999 ITC units up to 1000 feet from the
  12. host computer.  The single Multidrop RS-442 port runs at 2M bits/second.  The
  13. WY-997 MDCI board also includes a RS-232 port for synchronous communication.
  14. The WY-997 uses an high-speed on-board processor with 256KB on-board
  15. dual-ported RAM and occupies one full-length 16-bit ISA slot.  The WY-997 MDCI
  16. board requires from one to four WY-999 ITC units.
